Dane has had a swollen paw/wrist, and now it's only his wrist. He has been on antibiotics and we've done x-rays. While my vet can't say for sure what happened, but she suspects that strep bacteria got into his joint (possibly from a bite, scratch, or just being in his system somehow and getting into his wrist and starting an infection). The xrays showed that one of the bones in his wrist was smaller compared to the other wrist, and there was extra space between that bone and the other. She thought that maybe when the infection started, it affected his bone growth on that side, and that the swelling is more of his way of balancing out everything now. Since he's not in pain, not limping, no fever, no lowered appetite, and otherwise appears to be just a normal happy kitten. She's not sure what the best plan of action is since he's not limping or showing any signs of discomfort, even when moving and pressing on his wrist.
Because of this mystery issue, he is discounted half price.
